World Water Map Data Package

This data package contains the data associated with the World Water Map project (worldwatermap.nationalgeographic.org). The World Water Map informs on the state of the worlds water resources between 1980 and 2019: storages and fluxes in the terrestrial water cycle, human impacts on the water cycle (i.e. demand, withdrawal and consumption) and, most importantly, the gap between renewable water availability and human water demands (i.e. the water gap). The data behind the World Water Map is based on the global hydrological model PCR-GLOBWB (globalhydrology.nl/research/models/pcr-globwb-2-0), which was developed at Utrecht University. This data package contains all the maps associated with the World Water Map. For more information, please contact Bram Droppers (b.droppers@uu.nl) or Niko Wanders (n.wanders@uu.nl).
